Rules of Survival Legacy Classic ROS Weapons Tier List
Assault rifles, SMGs, DMRs, and snipers ranked from S to F for Legacy preparation.
Rules of Survival Legacy remains Under Development at Myth Games on PC. These weapon tiers reflect classic ROS live meta before the June 27, 2022 shutdown—not verified Legacy stats. Myth Games is not NetEase, and no official APK exists for early access. Use this page to rebuild muscle memory for gun names, recoil feel, and swap priorities while you wait for launch news on Discord.
Legacy balance patches will likely move guns between tiers. Until then, studying classic rankings helps you loot faster: grab the ACR instead of debating a QBZ, or ditch the Thompson when an M4A1 appears.
Ranking criteria
We score each weapon on time-to-kill (TTK), effective range, recoil control, attachment scaling, ammo availability, and loot rarity. A gun that dominates with a 4x scope may be mid-tier with iron sights only. Snipers gain value on Fearless Fiord open terrain but lose flexibility inside Ghillie Island compounds near Training Base or Observatory.
Pair this list with the attachments tier list and drop locations so you know both what to pick up and where to find it.
S-tier weapons (classic meta)
| Weapon | Role | Why S-tier in classic ROS |
|---|---|---|
| ACR | Assault rifle | Flat recoil, strong mid-range, accepts every meta attachment |
| M4A1 | Assault rifle | Reliable TTK, common ammo, excellent with 4x and vertical grip |
| AWM | Bolt sniper | One-shot headshot with 8x; defined late-game power spikes |
| Barrett M82A1 | Anti-materiel | Devastating body shots; slower but punishes exposed teams |
| M249 | LMG | Squad wipe potential when fed with 5.56; risky solo due to reload |
The ACR and M4A1 were the backbone of competitive squads. Either gun with a compensator, vertical grip, and 4x scope could win mid-game fights around Bitter Lake or Rust Bay. AWM and Barrett occupied S-tier conditionally—only when you secured magnum or .50 ammo from military crates ranked high on our drop locations page.
A-tier weapons
| Weapon | Notes |
|---|---|
| AKM | High damage per shot; harder recoil than M4A1 but terrifying in peek fights |
| QBZ-95 | Solid all-rounder common on Asian-themed map loot tables |
| SCAR-L | Stable handling; slightly lower DPS than ACR but very forgiving |
| SVD | Semi-auto DMR; bridges AR and sniper roles on Fearless Fiord ridges |
| SKS | Rewarding tap-fire; A-tier with cheek pad and 4x |
| Vector | Melts at CQB inside buildings; ammo hunger drops it without extended mag |
QBZ-95 often spawned in urban clusters while AKM appeared near high-tier military zones. If Legacy preserves regional loot flavor, map knowledge from loot spots tells you which A-tier gun you are most likely to upgrade first.
B-tier weapons
| Weapon | Notes |
|---|---|
| Thompson | Iconic SMG; strong early game, outscaled after first AR pickup |
| UMP45 | Versatile SMG; B-tier because ARs outclass it past mid-game |
| MP5 | Controllable but low damage; fine for hot drops with no AR spawns |
| QBU | Bullpup DMR; decent on paper, outperformed by SVD in most lobbies |
| M16A4 | Burst-only limits full-auto brawls; situational on open snow fields |
The Thompson deserves special mention. Classic ROS players loved its hip-fire dominance when landing at contested POIs. Treat it as a transition weapon: clear the first squad, then swap for M4A1 or ACR before rotating toward Observatory or Training Base.
C-tier and F-tier
C-tier includes pistols except the occasional R1895 headshot meme, shotguns outside point-blank room clears, and the crossbow in anything except stealth clips. F-tier covers weapons you drop immediately— damaged melee-only situations aside—such as the VSS when ammo is absent, or any gun without compatible attachments when you already carry a loaded A-tier primary.
Do not ego-keep a Barrett without .50 BMG. That inventory slot belongs to meds or a secondary SMG for builds that run double-gun setups.
Weapon choice by map and phase
Early game (0–3 minutes): Thompson, Vector, or any automatic wins if you hot-drop Rust Bay or Bitter Lake. Check the Ghillie Island map guide for compound layout prep.
Mid game (first circle): Upgrade to M4A1, ACR, or AKM. Attachments from the attachments list matter more than marginal gun differences here.
Late game (final circles): AWM, Barrett, or M249 define zone control. SVD and SKS remain A-tier for players who dislike bolt-action reloads.
On Fearless Fiord with ~300 players, long-range A-tier DMRs gain value because third-party range is longer. Ghillie Island’s ~120 player lobbies rewarded aggressive AR pushes into Training Base.
Legacy balance watchlist
Myth Games may unify weapon pools, remove discontinued guns, or rebalance TTK for PC mouse-and-keyboard aim. Watch for these classic ROS favorites on patch notes: ACR, M4A1, AWM, Barrett, and Thompson nostalgia picks. Re-run sensitivity tuning after major recoil changes because the same DPI will feel different.
Connect loadout planning with the Getting Started guide, maps hub, and future builds pages. When you drop into Legacy’s first public test, compare your match results against this classic list and report differences on Discord.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is the ACR still the best gun in Rules of Survival Legacy?
Legacy has not launched, so nobody knows final stats. In classic ROS, the ACR was S-tier for controllable recoil and attachment flexibility. Re-test after Myth Games publishes balance notes.
AWM vs Barrett—which sniper ranks higher?
AWM ranked higher for most players due to faster cycle rate and one-shot headshot reliability. Barrett S-tier for body-shot pressure and vehicle damage when .50 BMG was stocked.
Should I keep a Thompson after finding an AR?
Usually no. Thompson was classic B-tier past early game. Swap to M4A1, ACR, or AKM unless you run a dedicated CQB build with no mid-range option.
Does QBZ-95 count as meta?
QBZ-95 was solid A-tier—not S-tier like ACR, but better than most SMGs at range. Strong pick when it is the best AR available in your loot pool.
How will Legacy PC aim affect weapon tiers?
Mouse precision favors DMRs and single-tap rifles like SKS and SVD. Recoil-heavy guns may feel weaker unless Myth Games adjusts patterns for PC.
Where do I practice these weapons before launch?
There is no official Legacy client yet. Study classic footage, read drop and attachment guides here, and tune PC controls so you are ready day one.
